Margo has done it again
We took Lilliput Dame Margo to her second show at Kyneton and
in a first for us she won Supreme Exhibit of the show against all the other
breeds. Not bad for a seven year old cow. It's looking like she
may go to the feature show at Sydney. Lilliput Lord Dean was Junior
Champion Small Breeds Bull. This only makes the semen from Alkaloid
even more special. |
 |
|
Lilliput Lord Alkaloid has now had
licensed semen collected Alkaloid won Senior
Champion at Royal Melbourne show in 2007 & 2008, and two of his sisters have
been Supreme Exhibit at Royal Melbourne. We have never wanted to share
the genetics of our champion bulls but this bull is very special to us so we
have had him collected for the Australian, New Zealand, Canada US and the
EU. He overpowered the bulls at Melbourne 2008 with an EMA of 106 sq cm, he
just strolled around the ring because he is so free moving and is just a
dream to handle. We have used him in our herd and are really please
with the uniform group of calves he has produced. Lilliput lord Dean
who is by alkaloid will be in our show team for the feature show at Sydney
next year. |

Royal Melbourne Show |
Our Royal Melbourne Show 2009
We took five head to Melbourne this year. One
heifer Lady Catherine that was on the point of calving who won her class.
One cow Dame Margo with a beautiful little heifer calf at foot who won her
class then went on to win senior and grand champion and two junior bulls in
the same class Denzel who came second and Dean who was placed forth.
Lilliput Lord Charles was our last entry and he won his class. Margo
then went on to be supreme exhibit which was a real highlight for us because
she had not been to a show before and is seven years old. We also won
the best of three head and most successful exhibitor. Then to top it
off the heifer calf won cutest calf in the show which we hope will be just
the start for this calf. |

the serious cattle breeder, which will continue to grow in its numbers over
the next few years becoming the biggest in Victoria. We won with two

of years. Lilliput Lord Denzel on his first outing was Reserve Junior
Champion and Lilliput Lady Catherine was junior Champion Heifer. |

Royal Sydney Show 2009
Graeme travelled to Sydney for the first time this year
taking three of his favourite cows with him, one being his new show heifer
Lilliput Lady Catherine who we had great hopes for. Catherine took
away the Reserve Champion junior heifer which we were really pleased with.
She has a great presence about herself and commands attention.

Royal Melbourne Show 2006
We had a very exciting show this year, we took five animals
and six hours after we arrived our senior cow decided she wanted to calf.
The show set up a pen for her and a hour later we had a new little heifer
which we have name Lilliput Royal Blessing |
 |
Interbreed Showing
We took the cow and heifer which Graeme had to carry
in ring and she won her class then won Senior Champion Cow. By this
time the cow was getting a little upset and Graeme very tried. The Judge
just kept saying one more lap and laughing. Xena also won Grand Champion
Cow.
Next we had Interbreed and once again Graeme is carrying the calf. This was
great to win and Jane sponsored a lovely trophy . |

Come and Visit Us

We really enjoy everyone coming and chatting about
Lowlines |
Beef
Week
Sunday 4th Feburary 2007
Lilliput has now been breeding
Lowline cattle since 1995. We would like to give breeders this opportunity
to view the progress our cattle have made. Our priorities are fertility,
early maturity, structure and performance which has been evident in our many
Royal Champions. Our bulls are used extensively in commercial herds
for ease of calving and low birth weight with high gain. We are MN2
and participate in breedplan. We will have stud and commercial stock
available for sale on the day.

 |
American Tour 2006
We had the privilege of hosting a tour of 26
American Lowline cattle breeders at our stud in April. As you can see
from the photos they were very interested in how we manage our cattle.
It was great to meet and talk with people that are as passionate about
Lowlines as we are.
The time went to quickly for us as we didn't
get to ask much about their operations as we would have liked.
They were very impressed with the cattle in
Australia that they purchased a dozen breeding females as well as semen and
embryos which were transported back to America.
Graeme and I would like to thank everyone that took the time out their busy
lifestyles to come and visit our stud and hope that they enjoyed their stay
in Australia.

Open Day Sunday 4th
March 2007
We open our farm to both breeders and interested
people to come and see how we manage our farm and animals. This year could
be very interesting with the drought.
It is a great day with lots to learn.
